Cookie policy

The (very short) list of cookies we set, and why.

Last updated May 2026

We don’t run advertising trackers and we don’t have third-party analytics for behavioural retargeting. The cookies below are the full set we set. Every one of them is either strictly required for the platform to work or set by a sub-processor that does something we couldn’t run ourselves.

What we set

  • tutorviq.session: keeps you signed in. Expires when you sign out or after 30 days of inactivity.
  • tutorviq.activeRole: for accounts with more than one role (e.g. tutor who is also a parent), remembers which role you’re using right now. Local-storage; no third party sees it.
  • tutorviq.locale: your country and currency preference (UK / GBP or NG / NGN). 1-year expiry.

Set by sub-processors

  • Keycloak (auth.tutorviq.com): session cookies for the OIDC flow. Handled per the Keycloak documentation; cleared on sign-out.
  • Stripe (js.stripe.com): a fraud-detection cookie on the payment iframe. Only present while you’re at checkout.
  • Paystack (js.paystack.co): same idea for Naira payments.
  • Cloudinary (res.cloudinary.com): none, but the CDN may set a host-level CDN cookie depending on your ISP.

What we don’t set

  • Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any similar advertising tracker. We deliberately don’t run these.
  • Heatmap or session-replay tools (Hotjar, FullStory, etc.).
  • "Like / share" buttons that talk to Twitter / LinkedIn / Facebook on page load. We use plain links.

Turning cookies off

You can disable cookies in your browser. The session cookie is required for sign-in to work, so you’ll be signed out as soon as you reload the page. The locale cookie is optional. Turn it off and we’ll pick currency from your IP at every visit, which is slightly less accurate.
